While nearly everyone on the net knows Dollhouse and Chuck are back there is a small print.
For Dollhouse, it will be coming back to begin a second season airing in the fall on US television. So if you do decide to purchase the DVD released late July with the one new episode which was never aired on television then it will work as a nice thing to have to avoid a long break between new content. The second season has a 13 episode commission with no word about additional episodes in the same season yet, so it may be possible that the order is extended if the ratings justify it.
Chuck has a problem. The show is just as fantastic as Dollhouse but because Jay Leno is now taking over most of the broadcast time on NBC there is no slot to put it in. Instead, Heroes will begin in the fall with a shorter 18 episode season and once that has concluded it’s run Chuck will take over the time slot. This means Chuck will not begin again until March next year so a 10 month wait before new episodes is on the cards. With how long there will be between seasons it is hard to imagine Chuck gaining on ratings numbers with such a long time between new episodes and a lower production budget in place.
