Reaper is living with a death sentence. The drama/comedy about a guy who works for the devil will most likely not be returning with a third season and these are the reasons why.
The writers have now signed a deal with FOX which means they need to leave ABC where the show is based, in addition the actor who played Sock has taken another gig. If you need additional points just look at Party Down, a show just beginning on another network starring the actor who played lead Sam’s demon ally.
It is certainly a shame that Reaper isn’t coming back since between itself and Chuck they were the most enjoyable shows on TV to begin recently. The fantastic writing and incredible characters actors have made for two shows which will be watched on DVD for decades to come. The thing is unless you have the ratings like American Idol it doesn’t matter if you are a quality show or a guy burping in a contest for 30 minutes the chances of renewal are slim to none.
We are still holding out hope that both will return, but at this point Chuck has more of a chance.

[...] Since Reaper is possibly finished also it’s hard to imagine the fall season without another series of Prison Break. 2 comments to… “No television showing of Prison Break finale – In any country!” Dan April 26th, 2009 What is your source for this news? I cannot find any other website that backs up the claims stated in this article. The Season 4 DVD will contain 24 episodes, so it appears that someone’s facts are incorrect somewhere along the line. Ain’t it always that way with the Networks… They don’t even really give any of the better shows an even chance at staying on. This isn’t the way it should be, the fans keep the networks alive through revenue from commercials… Taking my favorite show off the air just makes me want to change to watching another network altogether.
If we stood up in protest even a single time the impact would be devastating against the Network. Spit in my eye by taking off one of my favorite shows… I can guarantee you that I will never watch their stinking channel again, nor will a majority of my friends who feel the same way! So, maybe 50-60 less viewers is not that much…
and the network could care less…
keep journeying down that path until you lose all your faithful viewers, or at least enough that it causes detrimental harm to the Networks economic status…
After the final episode airs, the channel will be deleted from my television’s memory! They can bank on that.
