Perhaps Al Gore watched this election-themed Peanuts cartoon the night of the 2000 election. Perhaps it had a negative effect on the outcome of the voting. Or perhaps President Bush was elected illegally. Whatever the reason, You’re (Not) Elected Charlie Brown is a great animated feature.

Like the title says, good ol’ Charlie Brown finds out he has no shot at being elected student body president. Enter Linus, who, thanks to sister Lucy, puts on a fool-proof campaign. But, like most politicians, Linus’s desire for political power goes to his head. He makes promises he can’t keep to the student body. He uses whatever tactics he can to become elected.

Does he become student body prez? Will Snoopy and Woodstock make an appearance? Will Charlie Brown ever have a good day? These questions and more will be answered in You’re (Not) Elected Charlie Brown: Remastered Deluxe Edition.

Also included on the DVD is He’s a Bully, Charlie Brown. Not the best of the specials by a long shot. In fact, it’s probably the worst. What can be learned from this boredom-inducing cartoon? Linus and Lucy’s parents apparently got busy one night and had another kid: Rerun! No, not the guy from What’s Happening! A younger version of Linus (he wears a hat, that’s the difference).

So, Charlie Brown, Linus, Rerun, and Marci go off to camp. And what do you think happens? That’s right, Charlie Brown and Marci hook-up. No, I’m kidding. There’s an obnoxious bully who uses marbles to scam poor Rerun out of his grandfather’s marble collection. What to do? What to do? Enter Charlie Brown who shows this bully that you don’t mess with his posse unless you want a hit in the marbles!

Special features include a featurette all about the making of You’re (Not) Elected Charlie Brown.

You’re (Not) Elected Charlie Brown receives an A. He’s a Bully, Charlie Brown gets a D. Bring forth A Charlie Brown Christmas.
