Obama buys Knight Rider.
Those who tune in to watch Knight Rider on Wednesday, October 29th may be in for a bit of a shock. The timeslot used by NBC to show the sci-fi remake has been bought and paid for by Barack Obama for a half-hour political ad. Politics aside this could spell death for the show as it will provide time for NBC to take a second look at all the previous Nielsen data before deciding if the show will continue the week after or not. If we have learned anything from the writers strike of the 07-08 season it’s standing still is never a good thing for a show. That’s why they got rid of Las Vegas before providing it with a complete ending.
According to IMDB in addition to the advertisement being shown on NBC it has also been agreed to be broadcast at the same time on CBS with talks in place in addition to take over ABC and FOX at the same time on the night. Fox however may be showing sports that night. If this does take place there will be more networks than just NBC deciding which shows will get the axe ahead of the midseason replacement normally used to swap things around. Good luck to Knight Rider.
