Full cast on DVD artwork?

We have all seen DVD covers with full casts but should the studios focus on individual characters for a higher sales rate or is it wrong? After all those who casually know Terminator for example might be more interested in parting with their cash if they see a giant T-800 on the box rather than just the generic shot of someone running away from an unseen foe.

It’s not a new idea but more times than not the original cinema posters are victims of a copy & paste job right onto the DVD cover. Is it right to neglect an actor who puts in just as much work as another and not have them on the DVD cover for monetary reasons or should performances be promoted rather than appealing to the buying audiences base instincts? There are some fine examples of lesser characters being put on the cover for shows like Battlestar Galactica’s Number Six being put on the DVD cover instead of Baltar but that doesn’t stop it from being a great show.
