Dark Knight becomes IMDB’s #1 highest rated movie.

After breaking the opening day record held by Spiderman 3
for US only box-office takings The Dark Knight is
taking on the biggest movies of all time. A movies IMDB rating
is considered the crowning glory and the main thing that most
movie buffs take into consideration when looking at buying movies
they have not heard of. After the first few days of it’s release
Dark Knight is now (at time of writing) the #1 highest scoring
movie with 23,611 votes rating it at 9.7/10.

That’s a full .6 points higher than the previous record holder
The Godfather. While this might be just a quick passing achievement
if the film is able to hold above a 9.0 on the scale then it will be
a solid earner for a long time to come. Just as in prior decades
a film would increase in revenue just because of being
nominated/winning an Oscar, now it’s all down to IMDB and the net.

If the box office takings match the level of critical praise then
it would be hard not to imagine another Batman film coming out
soon. If there is another movie who would you like to see as the
primary villain if those in The Dark Knight are excluded from the running?
