After a long wait for Christmas to come around so hard core Star Trek fans can complain about just how many things are wrong with J.J. Abrams version of Star Trek things have become interesting.

The release date for Star Trek XI has been pushed back to May 8th 2009. The reason this is more important than just the delay is because epic status sci-fi movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine has a current opening date of May 1st 2009. Will people be in the mood for more sci-fi after Wolverine’s release is an interesting question but since these are just the first few movies to have a May 09 date we will see more contenders for the title soon.
