The DVD of the first half of season six attempts to resolve issues left over from the previous season. The first story of the season makes a large number of references to the end of season 5 two parter. While these do further the character development if you haven’t seen it you could get lost in the story. Then we come to the real stand out of these three discs.

There is a two parter about a shooting involving Jim Brass the main cop in the show. When he takes part in a chase and then a shootout with multiple police against gang members with AK’s. For action junkies the first 5 minutes will give you more gunshots than a whole regular season and make it just like a Michael Bay movie. The episodes are right up there as possibly the best the show has ever come up with.

Extras include the usual commentary tracks and a featurette on the new title sequence for the season plus CSI: The science of sound featurette.
