The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Eighth Season – Blu-ray Review

The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Eighth Season

A lot has changed on The Big Bang Theory in the past eight seasons. I still remember going to see a taping of the second episode (“The Big Bran Hypothesis”) of the series at Warner Bros. Studios with no clue about what the show was other than the title. Little did the half-filled audience and I know that what we were watching would become an international hit going on nine seasons.

Now, if you try and go to a taping of Big Bang, there is such a long line that it’s best to get there three or more hours before the taping begins just so you have a shot of getting in. If you’ve never been to a TV taping, and are interested in seeing the inner-workings of how a multi-camera sitcom comes together, I highly recommend getting tickets (always free) and checking one out.

But I digress, back to the review…

By season eight of The Big Bang Theory, the series has become a finely tuned and well-oiled machine, turning out episode after episode of solid laughs. Co-creator/Executive Producer Chuck Lorre certainly knows how to keep the audience interested and laughing season after season, and with The Big Bang Theory (arguably his biggest hit), he’s struck comedy gold.

While his series Two and a Half Men and Mike & Molly aim for a more adult audience, with Big Bang Lorre and his creative team have developed a series that has multi-generational appeal. My parents watch it. I know young people who watch it. It’s a show that is fun for all ages and even the more adult-oriented jokes don’t go as far as other series currently on TV.

The Big Bang Theory is addictive. If you enjoyed one, you’re sure to get hooked and keep watching as many as you can. Heck, I watched all twenty-four season eight episodes in a matter of days. I couldn’t help it. It’s so good!

With it’s solid cast that includes Emmy winner Jim Parson, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, and Melissa Rauch, The Big Bang Theory never gives up on its primary mission to make us laugh time and time again. Our love for these characters has only grown stronger over the past eight seasons and from the looks of it they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, either in new episodes or reruns.
