Marvel’s The Avengers – Blu-ray Review

OMFG! It’s finally here! I don’t know when I’ve been so excited to watch a movie again. It may have been when She’s the Man came out on DVD, but I’m not really sure. Anyway, Marvel’s The Avengers is finally on Blu-ray and DVD and it’s awesome, and fantastic, and gives me chills, and I’ll probably watch it again after I post this.

Onward to the special features, and the Blu-ray edition is loaded with plenty of superhero awesomeness.

Marvel One-Shot: Item 47

After the Battle of New York (you know, that kick-ass fight at the end of The Avengers), some alien objects were retrieved by S.H.I.E.L.D. But one slipped through their fingers. Find out what happened to it and if they were able to get it back.

Gag Reel

LMAO!

Deleted & Extended Scenes

Some good content here. Several scenes help develop the characters more but were probably cut for time so the flick wasn’t four hours long (not that that would have been a bad thing!).

A Visual Journey

A behind-the-scenes look at the style of the film and why certain visual aspects were chosen for the film. Includes interviews, with the filmmakers, cast, and others. Really cool stuff.

Assembling the Ultimate Team

I really enjoyed this featurette. It’s a rundown of all the characters, the actors who play them, and comments from their fellow cast members and filmmakers.

Soundgarden Music Video: “Live to Rise”

Run, don’t walk to get your copy of this fantastic popcorn flick! It’s orgasmic!

Marvel’s The Avengers is available on Blu-ray, DVD, Blu-ray 3D, and Digital Download September 25, 2012!

One more thing: Agent Coulson rocks! ‘Nuff said!
