Is Hollywood butchering another fairytale story?
When I got word about this new film all I could do was laugh. Even as I watched the trailer I continued to laugh. I will say that this is a nice spin on the story and makes sense. I’m happy that the story focuses on Hansel & Gretel later in life and that it will feature a ton of witches. That adds a lot of flexibility for the film and my acceptance of it.
But seriously this seems like a film that you have to throw popcorn at the screen to fully enjoy it. Sometimes those do turn out to be the best kinds of movies. I would like to point out that Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is meant to be funny – that doesn’t mean that it actually will be though. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are some of the producers. So at least it does have some comedic talent behind it.
