Before he was pirate Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp was an astronaut. And, much like Captain Jack, something’s a bit off about the aforementioned astronaut, Spencer, after a two-minute blackout in space makes him seem a bit different to his wife (Charlize Theron) once he returns to Earth.
What’s wrong with him is unnoticed by most, but a few others have a strange feeling that once NASA’s best isn’t who he used to be. So, who is he? What’s happened to him? And what the hell is growing inside his pregnant wife?????
This taught sci-fi thriller will leave you guessing and asking yourself these questions throughout. Both Depp and Theron give solid and riveting performances as a once happily married couple brought to the brink of sanity by a mysterious incident that neither can explain nor comprehend.
If you like suspenseful sci-fi thrillers with plenty of violence and hearty dose of sex, I recommend you check out The Astronaut’s Wife. This is definitely not the kid-friendly Depp that we’ve all come to know and love, and that’s just fine with me.
