Mushroom GreenZero Wall Travel Charger Review

If you’re one of those people that wants to save energy, but doesn’t feel like unplugging your cord from the outlet once your electronic device is done charging, then the Mushroom GreenZero Wall Travel Charger is for you.

A typical charger continues to zap energy if it’s connected to a outlet even if a device isn’t plugged into that charger. Obviously this is wasted electricity and money. Additionally over time it’s bad for your battery to be fully charged and connected to your charger. The Mushroom GreenZero Wall Travel Charger will automatically stop charging your device once its fully charged. Also it will stop sucking up power if you unplug the electronic device. So in theory it won’t waste electricity and ruin your battery.

In order to begin charging your device the very top of the Mushroom GreenZero Wall Travel Charger is a button. You push it and it’ll begin charging your device. There is a light within the shell of the unit itself that will flash when the unit is not charging. When it is charging it will be solid.

This charger will power anything with a USB connection. So you can use it on your tablet, smartphone, etc. If you buy the Mushroom GreenZero Wall Travel Charger that does not include a cord, you’ll of course need to have your own USB cord to plug in. That cord can be wrapped around underneath the lid of the top green portion. It won’t be able to fit long cords, but at least it will neatly wrap up part of the cable and hold it into place. This makes traveling with it easier to manage.

Ranging in price from $27-$34 it is pretty expensive for just a charger. I mean you would have to charge your device for years to make the money back that you would be saving in preventing wasteless standby power. However the idea and function of this device is solid so if you feel like you need to cut down on your electricity bill this might be a good step in the long term.
