It’s one thing to dress up as a knight, but it’s a completely different thing to join a jousting team.
History is bringing back the event and making it into a TV show. This isn’t a scripted event with a stunt person taking the hit and falling to the floor. These people are just thrill seekers looking to make some cash. As you’ll see from the video below, Full Metal Jousting is full of serious bodily injuries. Jousting is a dangerous competition so you have been warned that you’ll see a good amount of blood.

I could never imagine riding on a horse in knight’s armor and getting hit by a pole at 30mph! But apparently the 16 contestants felt like it would be worth it. You can check out the bios of all these crazy people here.
