The Woman DVD Review

The Woman DVD

The Woman DVD

This movie doesn’t deserve an R-rating. It deserves a WTF-rating.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie like The Woman. I got caught in its hook and I was dragged along for a crazy ride. I didn’t really see it coming, but all that I was hoping for was that something spectacular would happen and it definitely did.

If you think you can handle a gruesome visual and psychological movie, then you need to see The Woman. It’s going to mess with you. I don’t want to go into spoilers as you watching the movie without any context is best. All that you need to know is, a family finds a wild woman in the woods and tries to civilize her. If I say anything more than that it’ll ruin the treat.

As the film progresses, The Woman gets better and better. The situation builds up and gets darker. When the breaking point happens it’s so worth it.

Watch the trailer if you want to see spoilers:

As far as the special features on the DVD there’s a making of, deleted scenes, a short animated film called “Mi Burro”, and a music track “Distracted” by Sean Spillane. The making of is nice because it talks about the entire process of making The Woman. There are a couple of deleted scenes that add some additional story elements that were pulled from the movie, but it’s nothing all that important. Mi Burro is a odd tale of a boy and his donkey. It’s not related to The Woman nor is it scary.

I think The Woman is the type of movie that you’ll show your friends just to see how they react. So go out and pick it up. Let me know in the comments section below what you think of the movie!

The Woman is also available on Bluray:
