Thor Tales of Asgard – Review

Are you a teenage boy in search of an adventure? Watch Thor Tales of Asgard and realize that maybe you should simply stay home, unless you want to destroy your kingdom and ruin the rest of your family.

The basics of the story: Thor wants to prove his mightiness to himself and others around him. He can’t find an opponent that will challenge him on Asgard so he goes on a quest to show off that he is as good as he thinks he is.

Surprisingly enough it’s a pretty entertaining animated flick. I’ve seen other features that Marvel has created like Planet Hulk and Thor Tales of Asgard feels like it has a better story, characters, and action. The end of the film has a battle sequence that seems to come straight out of the Lord of the Rings. While it’s not entirely original, it’s still cool to watch.

There are some special features to be had: 2 audio commentary tracks with the creators of Thor Tales of Asgard, a making of feature, and an episode from The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes (episode title Thor The Mighty).

If you’re looking for more material to enjoy after the upcoming Thor film, Thor Tales of Asgard will be a good addition to quench your desires. It’s arriving on Bluray, DVD, and even game consoles May 17, 2011!
