Scott Pilgrim vs. The World – Movie Review

I’m not a gamer, but I really enjoyed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. It’s a very unique, very entertaining, and very creative film. While I’ve never really been a Michael Cera fan – other than his role in Superbad – I have to say that he was a kick-ass Scott Pilgrim. You definitely should check it out!

Even if you’re not a big fan of video games, the movie is filled with great moments of action, humor, and lots of visual effects that keep you glued to the screen. Scott Pilgrim’s world exemplifies what might go on inside the head of a person with ADHD, but it serves the story and the characters well.

Director and co-screenwriter Edgar Wright, whom many know from his films Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, really taps into the mindset of the gamer generation. Wright has hit the nail on the head and has created a universe that leaves the audience thoughoughly entertained from start to finish. I know I was.

Based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley, the movie truncates the comic series into one fast-paced and engaging film. The cast is excellent (Mary Elizabeth Winstead is hot!), the action sequences are amazing, and the overall film is a whole lot of fun. I highly recommend it!
