JET SET RADIO…. is coming to the Xbox 360.

The only thing that would make me happier would be the announcement of a sequel. A port of the best Dreamcast game ever created isn’t too bad though. A person going by the handle “Xbox360Leaker” posted a singular picture of what could either be confirmation of Jet Set Radio(originally known as Jet Grind Radio in America until the sequel) for the Xbox 360 or a very cruel Photoshop.

The picture itself shows four as-of-yet unreleased Xbox 360 titles, three of which are known to be coming out. Zeno Clash, Quake Arena, Sonic 4 Episode 1 and Jet Set Radio. Of the four Jet Set Radio is the only one that’s not a full copy on the page, but does seem to read as a Xbox Live Arcade Demo in french.

Now there is some merit behind this picture beyond just hope. Sega renewed the trademarks for Jet Set Radio along with Chuchu Rocket back in March 2009, suggesting some action was intended for the series. The game’s most prominent character, Beat, is in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sega Superstars Tennis. The latter of the two also features another JSR character, Gum. Not concrete evidence, but the presence in the game at least shows that Sega’s not forgotten the series all together.

While the game series has it’s cult following it never took off enough to warrant a constant revisiting as the years wore on, but the series has remained something of a favorite of mine since the original came out. I can only hope that this rumor is true, and that good sales, if it is indeed released, coaxes Sega into a Next Gen sequel. If not, an HD upgrade of the original is still something I’m more than eager to sink my teeth into.
