Borderlands Soundtrack Coming in December

Will include the likes of Jesper Kyd, Chris Velasco and more!

If you’ve enjoyed Borderlands, you may have grown attuned to the games music, no pun intended. If you like it so much that you want to grab it by the cheeks and huggle it forever, you’ve just earned it. The official Borderlands Soundtrack will hit shelves next month, that’s December 8. It will also be available on iTunes for those of you unwilling to go to aforementioned shelves.

So far you may expect tracks from “Jesper Kyd, Sascha Dikiciyan, Cris Velasco and Raison Varner, Tim Larkin” and more. I had to look up some of those, and well, it was worth it. Jesper Kyd is best known for his scores on both Assassin’s Creed games as well as Unreal Tournament III. Cris Velasco? God of War. He worked with Sascha Dikiciyan on Prototype’s soundtrack (which I remember was notably dark and foreboding). Varner looks like the mysterious debutant as a Google on him reveals nothing flashy. Tim Larkin on the other hand? Well, I’ll just link you to his prolific Wikipedia entry.

But yes, you’re wondering just as I am – where the hell is “Aint No Rest For The Wicked” by Cage the Elephant? That’s the track used in the game’s super-stylish intro video. Nope, it isn’t included in the soundtrack. Major bummer right there, but I really hope you didn’t want the soundtrack just for that one track. Because there’s more than one way to skin an MP3, if you don’t mind the expression.
