Dollhouse cancelled, audible nerd rage rolls across the globe

Unsurprisingly, Joss Whedon’s new TV series has been killed much like all of his other series, before their time. The show might not have been as strong as Buffy, Angel, or his (in my opinion)magnum opus Firefly, but it was still a great show amidst all of the mediocrity that fills the major TV networks. Fortunately, the show will not go out with a whimper like Firefly.

The Hollywood reporter revealed today that the series was getting canceled and that it was currently shooting it’s 11th of the 13 episodes. Fox, understanding the boiling pot that is Whedon’s fans, have decided to allow Whedon finish up the season a long time ago. Due to the great timing Whedon will be able to make sure the show with a big finale.

It’s good to hear the series will have a big finale, but I can’t help but wonder if the show’s end will be much like Buffy’s final season, which was filled with deus ex machina to wrap it up cleanly. The show might have done better with a better time slot and a quicker build, but what’s past is past. Well, perhaps we’ll get Doctor Horrible 2 sooner because of this.

  1. Being a doctor, I like your opinion on this particular subject. Many of our clientele talk about related matters together with me, and it really is exhilarating that we aren’t the only ones which truly care!
