Read it real fast and in Yahtzee’s voice, or don’t read it at all.

Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw, best known for being the man behind Zero Punctuation is working on his very own novel, even as we speak! Yahtzee is also known for making the Chzo series of free adventure games, so writing a novel appears to be quite a feather in his cap.

The novel will of course be related to his passion for games, and the hero of the story will be “Jim, a minor MMORPG character who dies in a magic-school accident, only to be reanimated 60 years later by a renegade necromancer”. I’m not exactly up-to-date with the novel scene, but a novel set in a video game (presumably) sure has my interest. But who am I kidding? A novel by Ben Croshaw going unread by me? Pfft.

Yahtzee appears to be one of gaming’s most prolific celebrities now. After an online review show that went from YouTube-like popularity to a fully-branded regular feature seen by thousands of gamers worldwide, to a critically-acclaimed adventure game series created all by himself, to a blog and now novels. Is he enviable or what?
