The Very First Alvin Show – DVD Review

AlvinShow

Here it is, the first Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon ever! Called The Alvin Show, the series premiered in 1961 and contains plenty of music, comedy, and Chipmunk shenanigans. See how Alvin, Simon, and Theodore got their starts; where Dave came into the picture, and find out who Clyde Crashcup is.

The animation is reminiscent of Rocky & Bullwinkle and George of the Jungle, which makes it all the more awesome to watch. This is classic TV animation at its best, and certainly is evidence of the characters’ sustainability over the past forty-plus years.

Along with the series premiere, you also get two bonus eps of the series: “A Chipmunk Reunion,” and “The Chipmunks Present: Rockin’ Through the Decades.” You can go wrong with this family-friendly series that is safe for everyone to enjoy.

Two decades later, the Chipmunks would return to TV with Alvin and the Chipmunks, and later with the movie satire series Alvin and the Chipmunks Go to the Movies. Check out my review of Go to the Movies by clicking here.

I can’t wait for The Alvin Show Christmas Special to come out on DVD!
