Ancient Aliens – DVD Review

Were ancient civilizations visited by extra-terrestrial beings? This is the main theory presented and refuted in this intriguing and eye opening documentary from the History Channel.

Utilizing Erich Von Däniken’s Chariots of the Gods? as a springboard, the documentary explores the possibilities that ancient cultures like the Egyptians, Mayans, Aztecs, and even persons in the Bible were visited and taught by alien beings.

While there are many who would look upon these theories as mere speculation and ravings of crazy people, there is evidence presented that makes one wonder if there is some truth to what is being said. From ancient texts, cave paintings, sculptures, and other physical evidence, is it possible that these ancient civilizations weren’t alone on our planet?

The documentary explores these concepts in great detail, even positing the notion that the Egyptians may have had electricity, and that runways for space craft line the mountains of South America.

What makes History Channel documentaries of this type enjoyable is that along with those who truly believe these beings came down and imparted knowledge to the ancient cultures, experts on the opposite side of the issue also get a chance to weigh in. Biblical scholars, archaeologists, physicists, and skeptics attempt to disprove that there is any evidence that aliens came and assisted with the building of the pyramids or even visited people in the Bible like Ezekiel despite his vivid description of an alien craft.

Discussion on this topic has and will continue for decades as debate over how these ancient civilizations built such grand structures rages on. Were they just super intelligent people with technology that remains hidden from modern man? Or were they taught by beings from outer space that brought to them the tools and powers to create structures that continue to baffle people even today?

These questions and others are left open to interpretation in the History Channel documentary, Ancient Aliens. Watch and decide for yourself. I recommend it!
