Labor Pains – TV Movie Review

Lohan

[Labor Pains premieres Sunday, July 19 at 8/7c only on ABC Family]

After a series of misses (I Know Who Killed Me, Georgia Rule, Just My Luck) and mishaps, Lindsay Lohan is back and in top form in the ABC Family Original Movie Labor Pains. Definitely a chick flick, the film manages to provide enough edginess to keep male audiences engaged as well.

Lohan stars as Thea, a secretary who, on the verge of being fired, lies to her boss and says she pregnant. As her luck begins to change, can she keep the lie of her fake pregnancy alive? And what will happen when those closest to her find out the truth?

It’s a quirky comedy that takes Lohan back to her Mean Girls and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen days. Labor Pains is a great vehicle for her, and I’m glad to see her back in the game once again.

The film also stars Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Janeane Garofalo (24), Jay Thomas (Mr. Holland’s Opus), and Luke Kirby (Halloween: Resurrection). It’s a solid cast that delivers the goods helps make the movie all the more appealing.

If you are a Lindsay Lohan fan, like chick flicks, or enjoy programming on ABC Family, then I recommend Labor Pains.
