Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – Movie Review

HarryPoster

Muggles rejoice! The latest installment in the Harry Potter series, The Half-Blood Prince is a winning combination of great storytelling, stellar effects, and compelling characters. Like those that came before it, Harry and company continue their time at Hogwarts, but this time things are a tad darker and bleaker than before.

Arguably the best film in the series, director David Yates (who also directed Order of the Phoenix and will direct the final two) delivers a powerful and emotional story with plenty of magic, action, and humor. There are some great comedic moments in the film that further the dimensionality of each character in the story.

If you’ve read the novels by J.K. Rowling, you know what basically happens in the film. If you are a person who has seen the films only, this is a great continuation of the film series that started in 2001.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is an excellent edition to the highly popular series and there’s no doubt in my mind that the Hogwarts gang will take down Bruno and anyone else who gets in their way this weekend at the box office.

After the movie, grab the official Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince soundtrack by composer Nicholas Hooper.
