Beautiful and amazing are two words that best describe this mini-series from BBC Earth. The visual scope of each episode in this series is breathtaking and epic. The events from nature each show follows are awe-inspiring.
It’s hard to criticize a series that takes the nature documentary to the next level. The ability of the filmmakers to get so close to these animals and make you a part of their story is an amazing feat. Anyone who loves animals or nature will find plenty to enjoy in these documentaries.
After watching the first few minutes of the first episode in the series, I was drawn to the worlds these animals inhabit. They truly become species you root for, empathize with, and celebrate with when goals are reached.
The mini-series includes six hour-long episodes which include:
The Great Melt (Polar Bears)
The Great Salmon Run (Salmon/Grizzly Bears)
The Great Migration (large animals in the Serengeti)
The Great Tide (sardines and other creatures in South Africa)
The Great Flood (animals make an annual trek to Botswana’s Okavango Delta)
The Great Feast (plankton, sea lions, humpback whales, and killer whales in Alaska)
Each episode also includes an insightful behind-the-scenes featurette that shows how that particular story was shot. Fascinating stuff.
I highly recommend Nature’s Most Amazing Events from BBC Earth. It’s an amazing and powerful series that will make you fall in love with nature and our planet all over again.
