Rock Band Music Store Now Available for Wii – It’s about time

Rock Band Wii

I feel sorry for the Wii players of Rock Band that have been missing out on all the downloadable content that Xbox 360 and PS3 owners get. Well now even Wii’s can download music for 200 Wii Points!

In total there are 50 Rock Band Wii tracks available for download in the Rock Band Music Store, including the 20 free Rock Band 2 DLC tracks and 30 additional songs for purchase already released as downloadable content for other console versions.

The 30 downloadable tracks for purchase include:
ARTIST TITLE

All-American Rejects Move Along
Avenged Sevenfold Afterlife

Don’t worry about the limited 50 songs – soon there will be more than 500 songs available just like the other consoles. For Rock Band 2 owners, new songs will be released weekly starting in February.

The big issue with the Wii is how do you store all these songs? In addition to the Wii’s tiny internal flash drive, users can store additional songs on an SD card. In the Spring, SanDisk will release an official 2GB Rock Band 2 SD card that will allow players to store more than 75 downloadable tracks.
