Regardless of whether you listen to fools or not, it’s now officially official that Electronic Arts will be publishing Brütal Legend, Tim Schafer’s next title. This comes as a wave of relief for Schafer fans, since the title was floating in limbo since Activision Blizzard dropped it.

Schafer, if you do not know is the prodigal designer behind LucasArts classic Grim Fandango, before he moved on to make his own studio Double Fine, where he churned out Psychonauts, which one hell of a platformer. He was quoted as saying:

“This is awesome news! The quality and creativity of the games EA Partners has been involved with make it a perfect home for our baby, Brütal Legend. Some people were starting to wonder if the saga of Eddie Riggs would ever see the light of day, but now I think it’s clear that this game, like Metal itself, cannot be killed!”

Hell Yeah, Tim. Well, actually I can’t really imagine anyone giving up a game with Jack Black doing voice acting.

The release is scheduled for next fall, so keep your eyes open: Eddie Riggs is on the road. Check out more StuffWeLike coverage of this awesome game at the official tag!
