Wooden wonder: Vita Audio’s R4

Vita Audio R4

Vita Audio-those fine purveyors of quality audio equipment have conjured up yet another dreamy looking stereo that combines a soft wood finish with the reassuring touch of steel. That’s not all though, it does contain some cool features too.

The 80 watt Vita Audio R4 IMS comes in a demure looking “Rich Walnut Veneer” or an almost ipoddy “Dream White Lacquer” and according to the company offers something different to “the cloned systems that swamp our stores”.

As well as sporting DAB and FM radio functionality it offers a slot loading CD player that plays CD-Audio, MP3 and WMA discs.

It also has an iPod dock (which, to be honest, stereos have to have nowadays) as well as two auxiliary inputs for other MP3 devices. Good for those who have so far resisted the ‘pods.

The only snag is the price. Starting at around $1,000 it’s definitely not cheap and is probably not for you if you listen to all your radio through the web anyway. Doesn’t stop me from wanting one though.
