GameTap Goes Free
With competition increasing in the digital distribution field, GameTap releases a free version of its service. It would be nice if this free version actually worked, but oh well.

Microsoft Announces Silverlight
In the internet realm, there really are no standards formats. Microsoft heats up the video market with its version of what is basically Flash called Silverlight.

Spider-Man 3 Webs In the Money
$148 million in 3 days. Damn where’s my paycheck?

Everybody Loves Raymond
I discover that I love Raymond as well. Yeah I know the show came on the air and went off years ago, but for some reason I now truly appreciate it.

ABC Online Goes HD
Streaming TV shows in HD for free?! What a concept.

Starcraft II Announced
In another shocking event Blizzard announces the wildly anticipated Starcraft II. Don’t expect it anytime soon though. Command & Conquer is a better series anyway.

Geometry Wars for Wii and DS announced
I quiver at this post because I had to actually test these games over the summer. What crap they were.

Hulu Joins Myspace

Hulu

Primetime on MyspaceTV

Hulu.com is the new hot website for the best in network media entertainment. NBC, FOX, and many more have teamed up to provide content that you can find on the Tube at high quality and for free! Would you rather buy a show off iTunes or would you watch one with limited commercial interruption? I choose free.

Since Myspace.com is owned by the FOX Corporation, all the content on Hulu is now being transfered over to MyspaceTV.com. If Hulu is the destination for the high quality content, officially titled Primetime on MyspaceTV is now the interactive portion for that content.

Hulu will soon be changing the face of the internet with high definition shows being streamed to your computers sometime in 2008. As of right now their HD content solely consists of movie trailers.

The Hobbit Coming to Theaters In 2010

the_hobbit_dvd_cover.jpg

According to bussinessweek.com, MGM and New Line Cinema have agreed to make two prequels to the Lord of the Rings movies. The first of the two is set to be released around Christmas of 2010.

Apparently after a nasty settlement dispute, Peter Jackson has signed on to work on both films and was the one who decided to turn the story into two movies.

Who’s going to play who and whether or not the films will live up to the expectations held by most after the Lord of the Rings trilogy is something we will have to wait for.

Why Should Anyone Care About Duke Nukem?

So, 3D Realms has finally come out with a teaser trailer for Duke Nukem Forever. The only question that I have is, why should I care?

On 3D Realms’ forums George Broussard posted a day before the trailer came up that the trailer would be up around noon CST and continued to thank everyone that worked on the trailer for their hard work. I just think it’s a little ridiculous that he felt the need to tell everyone that it was coming out like it was some huge announcement that everyone was waiting for.

I watched the trailer, and it was absolutely nothing special. It just showed Duke Nukem doing the same stuff that he always does. Maybe if it showed a new villain or at least something that would make it look any different from the past Duke Nukems, I would somewhat care.

You would think that after working on the game for over a decade they could come up with something a little more interesting. I actually think that I was more excited for the game before seeing this trailer. And now that the teaser is out, how long do you think it’s going to be for some actual game play footage?
